Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 am Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church for Una “Nip” Starry, age 94 of Long Prairie, who died Friday at CentraCare-Long Prairie Hospital.  Fr. Mark Willenbring will officiate and burial will be in the St. Mary’s Cemetery, Long Prairie.  Friends and relatives may call from 4-8 pm Monday, August 26, 2013 and after 8 am Tuesday at the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home – Stein Chapel, Long Prairie.  Parish prayers will be Monday at 7:30 pm at the funeral home.

Una Marie Thiegs was born August 8, 1919 in Long Prairie Township, Todd County, Minnesota the daughter of Frank and Catherine (Claseman) Thiegs.  She grew up on the family farm and attended country school.  She married Fred Starry on April 18, 1938 in Long Prairie.  They made their home in Long Prairie where Fred had Starry Electric for many years.

Una was a member of St. Mary of Mt Carmel Catholic Church.  She enjoyed crocheting, fishing, baking, playing cards, dancing, and traveling in the camper with Fred.
She is survived by her children, Pearl Ruud of Long Prairie, LouAnn (Dale) Schultz of Albany, and Dennis (Lynnae) Starry of Long Prairie, eight grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Una was preceded in death by her parents, husband Fred, grandson Timothy Ruud, a brother and five sisters.
