Stearns County invites amateur photographers to send us their favorite fall photo… and possibly win a fall prize package. Stearns County is holding its fourth annual photo contest. The theme for 2013: Fall Favorites.
Stearns County wants county residents to send it pictures of whatever it is they enjoy about fall. Some ideas may be:
· Back to school
· Fall harvest
· Pumpkin patches
· Home and/or garden projects
· Autumn leaf colors
· Apple orchards
These are only ideas; Fall Favorites can be anything.
There is no limit to the number of submissions per entrant. The only requirement for this contest: The photo must have been taken in Stearns County.
Judging is based on creativity, originality, photo content and the photos’ relevance to the Fall Favorites theme. Winners will be announced by Nov. 22. The top five winning photos, including a grand prize winner, will receive a prize package celebrating fall.
Winning photographs will appear on the home page of Stearns County’s web site. All entries will be featured in Stearns County’s online photo gallery, on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Flickr, Google+, and Tumblr. All photographs will also be displayed in the Stearns County Administration Center and Stearns County Service Center entryways when the contest is complete. Photos could also appear in brochures and other materials promoting the county.
The Fall Favorites photo contest runs through Nov. 15. Citizens can participate by uploading photos on Stearns County’s website at www.co.stearns.mn.us. Details and contest rules, as well as past photos and contest winners, can also be found on the county website.
“This is a fun competition that strengthens the connection between Stearns County and its citizens. It showcases what’s unique and extraordinary about where we live,” said Information Services Director George McClure. “Every year we get some amazing and creative photographs; it makes the judging process very difficult.”
Whether photography is a passion, a hobby or an occasional pastime, everyone can participate.
