Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring, MN for Sylvester “Bill” Ficker, age 92, who died Sunday at Assumption Home in Cold Spring.  Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Relatives and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 17th at the Wenner Funeral Home in Cold Spring.  Parish Prayers will be at 4:00 p.m.  Visitation will continue from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m., Wednesday morning at the funeral home.

Bill was born in Cold Spring to John and Margaret (Jacobs) Ficker.  He married Rita Schleppenbach on April 26, 1947 in St. Boniface Catholic Church, Cold Spring, MN.  Bill served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 -1945 as a Radioman.  He was employed at the St. Cloud V.A. for over 30 years as a Recreational Therapist.  Bill also worked as a Cold Spring Village Clerk.  He was a member of the Cold Spring Legion, WWII Last Man’s Club, Friends of Education and St. Boniface Parish.

Survivors include his children, John (Julie), Gary (Liz), Deb (Damian) Hennen, Mark (Neecy), Shari (Bryan) Nierengarten, Randy (Jill), Barb (Jeff) Miller, Tom (Shannon); 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Rita; siblings, Marcellus (Lefty), Wally, Madeline, Ronald and Bea.

Memorials preferred to St. Boniface School and Rocori Dollars for Scholars.
