Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am, Monday, September 30, 2013 at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, Long Prairie for Margaret A. “Marge” Roberts, age 92, of Long Prairie.  Fr. Mark Willenbring will officiate and burial will be at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis.  Friends may call from 5-8 pm Sunday, and after 8am  Monday at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home-Stein Chapel, Long Prairie.  Christian Mothers and Foresters Rosary will be at 5 pm Sunday with parish prayers at 7 pm Sunday, all in the funeral home.

Margaret Alice Gerou was born on July 20, 1921 in Minneapolis, MN, the daughter of Frank and Josephine (Deminsky) Gerou.  She grew up in Minneapolis and graduated from Minneapolis Edison High School.  She married John Keil on Nov. 7, 1944 in Minneapolis.  They made their home in Columbia Heights.  He died in 1964.   She was employed for a time at Dunkin Donuts. She married Archie Roberts in 1969 and they continued to reside in the Twin Cities area.  He died in 1981.  In 1987 Marge moved to Long Prairie where she worked as a crossing guard at the Long Prairie School.  She later was employed at Long Prairie Kids (an after school program).  She enjoyed playing cards, going out for coffee, bingo,  and spending time with her family and friends.

Marge was a member of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, and its Christian Mothers, Order of Foresters, Long Prairie V.F.W. and American Legion Auxiliary, where she sold many poppies over the years, and the Long Prairie TOPS Club.

She is survived by her children, John Keil of Columbia Heights, Renee (Lee) Olmschenk of Coon Rapids, Mary (James) Carlson of Staples, Robert (Sandy) Keil of Coon Rapids, and Debra (Allen) Hines of Long Prairie, step children, Kenny Roberts and Dale (Cindy) Roberts all of Minneapolis, and Terry (Judd) Roberts of Cambridge, also nine grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, and granddaughter, Michelle Robben.
