Carmen Celestine Arnold, 83, of Long Prairie, passed away on September 15, 2013, at the Centra Care Health System in Long Prairie. Funeral services for Carmen will be held on Friday, September 20, 2013, 11:00 a.m., at the Iten Funeral Home in Browerville. Friends may begin calling at 10:00 a.m., at the funeral home. Interment will be held at the Minnesota State Veteran’s Cemetery at a later date. Memorials preferred by family.
Carmen was born January 11, 1930, in Martin County, Minnesota, to Eugene & Mary (Beckstrom) Alton. On October 23, 1948, she married Norman Arnold in Minneapolis. Carmen worked in restaurants doing various jobs most of her life. She enjoyed reading, playing cards, canning, camping; but most especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a very religious woman.
Carmen is survived by her husband Norman of Long Prairie; children: Steven (Judy) Arnold of Minneapolis, Susan (Dennis) Gulbrandson of Blaine, Martha (Charles) Puelston of Braham, Mary (Tom)Heiling of Tioga, North Dakota, Charles (Debra) Arnold of Little Falls, Kathy (Scott) Current of Browerville, Francis (Katie) Arnold of Long Prairie, 16 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren and one sister Jeanne Uchanski of Brooklyn Park.
Carmen is preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Katherine Hayes, Nathlie Grambush; brother Michael Alton; grandson Jason William Heiling on December 8, 1975 and great granddaughter Marley Dakota Heiling on December 17, 2010.
