Frosted Fudge Brownies

1 c. plus 3 Tbsp. butter,cubed
3/4 c. baking cocoa
4 eggs
2 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla extract

Frosting:
6 Tbsp. butter, softened
2 2/3 c. confectioners’ sugar
1/2 c. baking cocoa
1/3 – 1/2 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla extract

In saucepan melt butter; remove from heat. Stir in cocoa; cool. In large bowl beat eggs and sugar until blended. Combine flour, baking powder and salt; gradually add to egg mixture. Stir in vanilla and cooled chocolate mixture until well blended. Spread into greased 13-inch x 9-inch baking pan. Bake at 350° for 25-28 minutes or until toothpick inserted near center comes out clean (do not overbake). Cool on wire rack. For frosting, in large bowl, cream butter and confectioners’ sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in cocoa and vanilla. Add enough milk until frosting achieves spreading consistency. Spread over brownies and cut into bars. Makes two dozen.
