Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 7, 2013 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring, MN for Aloys “Allie” Spoden, age 78, who died Thursday at the St. Cloud Hospital. Inurnment will be private.
Relatives and friends may gather from 9:00 – 10:45 a.m., Monday morning in the St. Boniface Church Narthex.
Allie was born in Cold Spring to Joseph and Winifred (Fink) Spoden. He married Carol Menke on November 15, 1969 in St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring. Allie enjoyed working at the Cold Spring Granite Co. for 25 years, and retired in 1998. He loved yard work and gardening, his passion was watching and recording the daily weather. Allie loved his family and his dog Emmitt. He was a member of St. Boniface Parish.
Survivors include his loving wife, Carol; daughters, Amy (Craig) Twombly, Traci (Brian) Dockendorf; grandchildren, Owen, Sawyer, Maisy, Aidan, and Elsie; sister, Rose Pfannenstein; brothers, Mark (Jean), Joe, Harry (Marge), and Clarence (Joan) Spoden.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Raymond and Arthur Spoden; sisters-in-law, Eileen, Muriel, and Bernice Spoden, and brother-in-law, Art Pfannenstein.
Memorials preferred to the American Cancer Society.
