Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 7, 2013 at River of Life Assembly of God Church in Cold Spring, MN for James “Jim” Halverson, age 70, who died Thursday at his home.

Visitation with family and friends will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Sunday at the Wenner Funeral Home in Richmond.  Visitation will continue from 9:45 – 10:45 a.m. Monday morning at the church.

Jim was born in Minneapolis, MN to Phillip and Fern (Pihl) Halverson.  He served in the U.S. Army.  Jim married Kristine Swanson on April 11, 1981 in Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Cold Spring.  He owned Aurora Wellness Center Salon & Spa with his wife Kristine, worked for Construction Supply and Pent Star.  He was cofounder and board member of Soul Purpose.  Jim was a prison minister and girls high school hockey coach.  He was a member of River of Life Church where he was a board member.  Jim was also the V.P. of R.A.I.N.  He loved fishing, cars, and his golden retrievers.

Survivors include his wife, Kristine; mother-in-law, Darlene Swanson; sister-in-law, Marita Doran; brothers-in-law, Mark and Ben Swanson; nieces, Kelly and Vera; nephews, Matthew, Andrew, Armas, and Illya.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
