Royce Marvin Johnson, the son of George E. and Emma (Bliese) Johnson was born on May 21, 1922 on the farm owned by his grandparents in Round Prairie Township. This farm was later purchased by Royce. He was baptized and later confirmed on May 30, 1937 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Long Prairie by Pastor and friend, Reverend E.T. Heyne. He attended Center Lake School.
Royce grew up helping his parents and grandparents on the farm. On July 28, 1962, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Warren at the Trinity Lutheran Church. They enjoyed 51 years of happiness together. They were blessed with two children, Denita Marie and Warren Royce, and son-in-law, Michael.
Royce loved farming, dancing, reading, traveling, puzzles and family gatherings. He was an active member of the church and was a 4-H leader for several years. When he was caught up with work on the farm he did custom work, rock picking, plowing and combining for neighbors.
Royce was a loving, caring husband and a wonderful father and was always ready to lend a helping hand. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Royce is survived by his wife, Dorothy; his children, Denita (Mike) Wisniewski of Grey Eagle and Warren of Burnsville; a sister, Iris Froh and brother, Dale (Doris) Johnson of Long Prairie and many relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Emma Johnson, and his father and mother-in law, Dave and Ann Warren.
