A free educational seminar entitled, “The Whys of Wills: Developing Your Legacy and Charitable Giving” will discuss essential information and steps needed to develop and include in a will. The public is invited to attend the seminar, which begins at 6 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 14.
Local estate planning attorney Lisa Bowen and Lutheran Community Foundation representative Jason Watt will explore these topics in depth. This free seminar will be held at Grand Arbor, 4403 Pioneer Road SE, Alexandria.
More than 50 percent of Americans die without having a will in place; still fewer, 42 percent have a living will. A will is one of the most important legal documents to articulate one’s intentions regarding their estate, designate beneficiaries, name guardians for minor children, and make charitable provisions among other benefits.
This is the third seminar in an ongoing series hosted by Thrivent Financial and Knute Nelson. Upcoming seminar topics include:
• Tuesday, Dec. 3 – Long Term Care and Estate Planning: The Essentials.
• Tuesday, Jan. 14 – Market Updates
There is no cost to attend; however, RSVPs are appreciated due to limited space. Desserts and refreshments will be provided. To RSVP for any of these workshops, call Grand Arbor at 320-763-1600.
