Dorothy Rosenow

Dorothy E. Rosenow, 87, a resident of Long Prairie, passed away Monday, Nov. 18, 2013 at the CentraCare Health Systems in Long Prairie.
A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 22, at the Peace United Church in Long Prairie. Pastor Gary Taylor officiated. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery in Long Prairie. Visitation was from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday at the church.
Dorothy was born Dec. 6, 1925 to Fred and Anna (Martens) Kamphenkel. She was baptized, confirmed, and married at Evangelical and Reformed Church at Round Prairie. She attended kindergarten through eighth grade at Country School District 124. After graduating from Long Prairie High School in 1943, she went to work at Hart Press for eleven years. In 1948, she married George Dutch Rosenow and resided in Long Prairie. Dorothy worked six years at Midland Gas Plant and twenty-one years at Todd County Social Services, retiring in 1987 as supervisor in the accounting department and then baby-sat for her grandsons. That time was so very special. Dorothy also found joy in watching and feeding the birds and following the Minnesota Sports teams.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen (Marty) Jenkins and son, Allen (Cheryl) Rosenow, all of Long Prairie, grandsons, Kurt (Nicole), Patrick, and Eric Jenkins, twin brother, Donald (Pat) Kamphenkel of Long Prairie and sister-in-law Cecelia Kamphenkel of Little Falls. Also nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Dutch in 1994 and son Bruce in 1977, and her parents and brother, Ralph Kamphenkel.
