Patricia Lemke

Patricia Pat Lemke, 87, a resident of Long Prairie, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, Oct. 25, 2013 at her residence after a brief battle with colon cancer.
A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 16 at the Iten Funeral Home in Browerville. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery.
Pat was born Dec. 28, 1925, in Warren to Marvin and Helen (Mathwig) Tufts. While in her senior year at high school, Pat left school to go to work in ammunitions factory in Lincoln, Neb. After WWII, she moved to Minneapolis with family and worked at Fanny Farmer Candy Company for a short time, until she moved back to Long Prairie. Pat married Adolph Lemke in June 1946 in Milbank, S.D. They lived in Long Prairie and Pat worked at many different jobs but mainly at Harts Press. She moved to the Twin Cities in 1974 and worked at Poucher Printing. Pat retired in 1990 and moved back to Long Prairie. She loved her family very much and enjoyed reading and taking rides in the country.
Pat is survived by her children, Glynis (Dave) Kuehne of Long Prairie, Paula Lemke of South St. Paul, Mike (Michelle) Lemke of Eagle Bend, two sisters, Helen (Keith) Haynes of Long Prairie, Ruth Ann Gumm of Tacoma, Wash., two sisters-in-laws, Valeria Lemke of Long Prairie, Nina Tufts of Walker, eight grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Marvin & Helen, husband, Adolph, grandson, Craig, brothers, Marvin, Robert & Frederick in infancy.
Arrangements were with Iten Funeral Home, Browerville.
