Albina Biermaier, 96 a resident of Browerville,, passed away Monday, Dec. 16, 2013 at the Central Todd County Care Center in Clarissa..
A funeral service was held at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20, at Christ the King Catholic Church in Browerville with the Fr. Peter VanderWeyst officiating. Burial was held at Christ the King Catholic Cemetery in Browerville.
Albina was born March 12, 1917, in Iona Township, Todd County, to John & Mary (Wrobel) Goligowski. She graduated from Browerville High School and attended business college. Albina worked in Long Prairie until her marriage.
On May 7, 1940, she married Matt Biermaier; she and Matt farmed until his passing in 1993.
Albina enjoyed playing cards, doing needlework and always had a huge garden on the farm. She especially enjoyed little children.
Albina was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Browerville, helped with the funeral lunch program for many years and volunteered at Christ the King Catholic School and the Browerville Food Shelf.
Albina is survived by her children: Connie (Richard) Heaton of Nebraska, Bill (David) Biermaier of Minneapolis, Mary Line of Anoka, Mike Biermaier of Eden Prairie, Joe (Pam) Biermaier of Brainerd, Ken (Kristi) Biermaier of Browerville and JoAnn (Greg) Lisson of Clearwater; sister Mary (Ron) Nelson of Florida, brother Herman (Norma) Goligowski of California; 16 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Albina is preceded in death by her parents, husband Matt, sisters: Justine, Catherine, Tillie, Irene and Florence; brother Roman, 5 brothers in law, 1 sister in law and granddaughter Georgia.
Arrangements were with the Iten Funeral Home, Browerville.
