Lyle Ahrendt

Lyle Alden Ahrendt, 88 of Long Prairie (formerly of Clarissa) died Saturday, December 7, 2013 at the CentraCare Health System in Long Prairie. The funeral for Lyle will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2013 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Eagle Bend; burial will be at the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. The visitation will be on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 from 4 8 p.m. at the Iten Funeral Home in Clarissa and one hour prior to the funeral at the church on Thursday.
Lyle was born November 1, 1925 in Hendricks, Minnesota to Albert & Emilia (Eickhorn) Ahrendt. As a young man, Lyle moved to Sioux City, Iowa and it was there that he met and married Vivian Marie Stoner on January 1, 1947. Lyle did upholstery work until they moved to Clarissa in 1954 where he farmed with his family until his retirement.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert & Emelia, wife, Vivian, 2 sons, Michael & Mark, siblings, Donna, Luella, Maynard & Hertha.
Lyle is survived by his children, Lawrence, Roland, Steven (Eleanor), Mathew, Jeff (Liane), Timothy (Sara), Becky (Aaron) Kunerth, Michelle Lenz (Marlin Hukriede), 36 grand children, 43 great grandchildren, 1 great great-grandchild, brother-in-law Raymond Olejniczak and his good friend Randy Espree.
