Aloise Schmiesing, 73

Aloise Allie H. Schmiesing, 73, a resident of Sauk Centre (formerly of Long Prairie), passed away Sunday, Dec. 29, surrounded by her family after a short fight with cancer.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 6, at the First Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 5 at the church.
Aloise was born Feb. 9, 1940, in Little Sauk located in Todd County to Maylen and Alyce Olson. She graduated from Long Prairie in 1958 and worked for a couple of years as a nurses aid at Fairview Hospital in Minneapolis after graduation. On June 21, 1961, Aloise married Anthony J. Schmiesing. The couple were operators of several restaurants in the Sauk Centre area over the years including Tonys Steakhouse, Noahs Ark, Captain Tonys and Diamond Point.
Allie always enjoyd a good game of cards and working and helping out with the family business. She will always be remembered for her quiet gentleness.
Aloise is survived by her husband Anthony (Tony) of Sauk Centre, mother Alyce Olson of Sauk Centre, brother Meryln (Barb) Olson of Savage, daughter Kimberly (Marvin) Finken of Freeport, son Tony J. Schmiesing of Sauk Centre, step-daughter Joyce (Brian) Synder of Sauk Centre, many nieces and nephews, six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Aloise was preceded in death by dad Maylen Olson, son Richard Schmiesing, and many uncles and aunts and brothers/sisters in-law.
