To the editor:
So, how is that working out? Not much hope, but there sure has been a lot of changes. This man promised that he would “fundamentally change America” and, one must admit, he is doing a pretty darn good job of it. Work force participation at a 35 year low, $6.6 trillion increase in the national debt, 70 percent increase in food stamps, along with Social Security disability more than doubling in the first four years under Obama.
Are a lot more people really getting hurt on the job? Or are a lot of these folks finding out that it is much easier to get on disability, than it is to go out and get a job?
Add to that one of the President’s methods of wealth distribution, the health care debacle, that makes up one sixth of the U.S. economy, and you have a huge, liberal progressive-inspired mess.
A famous economist, Milton Friedman, once said “If we would put the Federal Government in charge of the Sahara Desert, in five years we would be out of sand.” With an already inefficient Federal Government, we are finding out what can happen when we put someone like this at the helm. It is nothing short of bewildering how this character was given a second term: Benghazi, the I.R.S. scandal, and Obamacare have proven this guy to be such an habitual, accomplished, chronic liar, that he would make Pinocchio look like an amateur.
In the months ahead, we can expect to see a rigorous Obama push for a “path to citizenship” for 12 million illegals, (Yes, “illegal,” not “undocumented” as Obama likes to say). If that were to materialize, this would be another huge voting bloc for the free stuff party, and that just might be the time to start singing, “Turn out the lights, the party’s over.”
