Food allergy workshop to be held April 24 at CentraCare Health Plaza

Researchers estimate that up to 15 million Americans have food allergies. Eight foods account for 90 percent of all reactions: milk, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, soy, wheat, fish and shellfish. Even trace amounts of a food allergen can cause a reaction.

Discover how to prevent, identify and respond to any suspected food allergy from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday, April 24, at CentraCare Health Plaza – Windfeldt Room. Kristin Johnson, RD, Katie Jepperson, RD, and Sharon Dunham, RN, of St. Cloud Hospital, will provide attendees with a plan for managing food allergies whether at home, school or dining out.

The free class is appropriate for parents, teachers, day care providers, health care professionals or any adult wanting to know more about the topic. Pre-registration is required at Register early; seating is limited. For questions, call St. Cloud Hospital Women & Children’s Center at 320-656-7021.
