Mary Ann Bauer, 82


Mary Ann Bauer, 82, a resident of Browerville, died Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at her residence.
A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 31, 2014, at Christ the King Catholic Church in Browerville. Fr. Peter Vander Weyst officiated. Burial was in Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls.
Mary Ann was born Feb. 4, 1932, in Browerville to Joseph and Frances (Buhl) Kotula. She graduated from Browerville High School in 1950 and Minneapolis Medical Technical College in 1952.
In 1953, Mary Ann married Melvin Bauer at St Josephs Catholic Church in Browerville. They lived at 18 different Air Force Bases; including Labrador, Alaska and Morocco during Melvins 26 year career. In 1976, they moved to Horseshoe Lake and then to Browerville in 2004.
Mary Ann enjoyed sewing, fishing, hunting squirrels, watching the birds, playing cards and traveling. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Browerville and the Sportsmens Club.
Mary Ann is survived by her children: Peter (Jan) Bauer of Browerville, Timothy (Tammy) Bauer of Cheyenne, Wyoming, daughter Mary (Darwin) Westendorf of Janesville, Iowa, 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; siblings: Louise Kuharski of Charlotte, North Carolina, Dorothy Kotula Rocco of Pt. Reyes Station, California, sisters-in-law Marcy Kotula of Browerville and Irene Kotula of Clarissa.
Mary Ann is preceded in death by her parents; husband Melvin, 8 siblings and 2 brothers-in-law.
