Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am, Saturday, May 24, 2014 at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, Long Prairie for Ronald K. Muenzhuber, age 77, of Long Prairie who died Wednesday at CentraCare Health Systems-Long Prairie. Rev. Mark Willenbring will officiate and burial will be at St. Marys Cemetery, Long Prairie. Friends may call from 4-8 pm, Friday at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home-Stein Chapel and after 8 am on Saturday. Catholic Women will pray the rosary at 4 pm with parish prayers at 7 pm at the funeral home.
Ron was born on November 27, 1936 in Long Prairie, Minnesota the son of Joseph & Bertha (Petrie) Muenzhuber. He grew up in Long Prairie and graduated from Long Prairie High School. He served in the United States Army during the Occupation Germany. He moved to Minneapolis and in 1960 started working for the Ford Motor Company in St. Paul. He married Viola Winkels on April 16, 1966 at St. Stephans Catholic Church in Minneapolis. They retired in 1992 and moved to Little Sauk. Viola passed away in 2007. Ron entered the CentraCare Health Systems Nursing Home in November of 2013.
Ron was a member of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, the Long Prairie American Legion, V.F.W., and the Long Prairie Country Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and playing cards.
Ron is survived by his son, Ronald II, Osakis; four grandchildren, Kimberly, Kelsey, Amanda, and Addion, great-grandson, Koda Valentini, siblings, Janet Rauch, Minneapolis, Arlen (Jean) Muenzhuber, Long Prairie, and Gary (Stephanie) Muenzhuber, Maple Grove, MN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Viola, infant sisters Delores & Sharol, and twin brother Donald.
