Casimir J. “Cap” Weller, 89 of Belgrade, died Sunday, April 9, 2017 at his home near Belgrade MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 17, 2017 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Elrosa. Visitation will be on Sunday April 16, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the church and for one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Arrangements are with the Johnson Funeral Home in Belgrade. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. www.hafh.org
Casimir Joseph Weller was born on June 2, 1927 in Wadena, MN to Charles and Martha (Vorderbruggen) Weller. He grew up in rural Wadena until 1939 when the family moved to rural Belgrade. Cap attended St. John’s Parochial school in Bluffton, District #166 country school rural Belgrade and graduated from Belgrade High in 1945. On June 14, 1949, Cap was united in marriage to Caroline J. Jennissen in Padua. To this union eleven sons and three daughters were born. They made their home and farmed north of Belgrade. Cap and Caroline were able to share in 32 years of marriage before her death on May 22, 1982. On August 6, 1983, Cap was united in marriage to Dorothy Butkowski Radermacher. This union was blessed with Dorothy’s nine children and Cap’s fourteen. This blended family was guided by their love and faith for 31 years. Dorothy passed away on April 15, 2015.
Cap retired from grain and dairy farming in 1992. He enjoyed wine making, gardening and attending his grandchildren’s events in retirement. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul’s Catholic Church where he sang in the choir since 1943. He served as chair on the state, local and national DHIA board, Belgrade-Elrosa School Board, served as a regional representative for the Belgrade School District and was a member of North Fork Crow River Watershed District.
Cap died on Sunday April 9, 2017 at his home near Belgrade at the age of 89. He is survived by, his children, David (Terry) Weller, Roger (Cheryl) Weller, Lois (Jerry) Detloff, Bruce (JoAnne) Weller, Ron (Heather) Weller, Alan (Barb) Weller, Brian (Cindy) Weller, Jim (Jackie) Weller, Mark Weller and friend Deb Breitbach, Kevin (Micki) Weller, Paul (Jane) Weller, Gregg (Brenda) Weller, Lori (Derek) Knapp and Lynn (Chris) Christensen; step-children, Greg (Audrey) Radermacher, Cheryl(Steve) Orbeck, Kenny (Bonita) Radermacher, Lionel (Linda) Radermacher, Anthony (Nancy) Radermacher, Marlene (Dan) Edeen, Patrick (Lisa) Radermacher, and Jeremy (Laura) Radermacher; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and sister, Anita North. He was preceded in death by his wives, Caroline and Dorothy; step-son, Richard Radermacher; grandson, Travis Radermacher and siblings, Evelyn Evens and Richard Weller.
