Gordon Johnson, 97 of Clarissa died June 24, 2016 at the Central Todd County Care Center in Clarissa. The funeral for Gordon will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 13, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Clarissa with visitation one hour prior to the funeral at the church.
Gordon was born July 22, 1918 to Art & Rena (Lund) Johnson. He married Bernice Obitz in 1937 and in 1944 he joined the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1946. He was a barber for many years in Browerville and Clarissa and was a dairy farmer. He enjoyed playing baseball, hunting deer, fishing, golfing and watching the Patriots football games. He is a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Clarissa American Legion Post 213 and Browerville VFW Post 2983. Gordon was a very devoted husband to his wife, Bernice.
He is survived by his children Gary (Diane) Johnson, Galynn (Tom) Brady, Alan (Nancy) Johnson; 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Gordon is preceded in death by his parents, Art & Rena, wife, Bernice, 3 sisters & 4 brothers.
